TransUnion Removing Tax Lien Data From Credit Reports

After ongoing monitoring of tax lien data, TransUnion has decided to stop reporting and to remove all remaining tax liens from their consumer credit reporting database. This will happen during the week of April 16, 2018 to ensure compliance with the enhanced standards of the National Consumer Assistance Plan (NCAP). Bankruptcy public record data will continue to be reported.

Last year, TransUnion implemented enhanced standards for the collection and timely updating of public record data such as consumer credit reports. At that time, all civil judgments and the majority of tax liens were removed from their consumer credit reporting databases.
