Work Opportunity Tax Credits Available Retroactively to January 2015

National Crime Search and Efficient Hire recently hosted a webinar to educate our partners on obtaining significant Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC) for themselves and their clients. Even if you missed the webinar, there's still time to apply for the these tax credits before the June deadline.
WOTC is a tax credit for businesses that hire people that are part of specific target groups such as unemployed veterans, SNAP, TANF, etc. Normally when a company hires a person belonging to a WOTC Target Group they have only 28 days to complete and file the necessary paperwork (8850 and 9061). Since Congress will renew WOTC retroactively to January 1, 2015, the normal 28 day window requirement will be waived (for a short period of time) for employees hired throughout 2015.

Most employers under 500 Employees either don’t know about WOTC or think its too hard of a process and therefore don’t attempt to capture WOTC.  A rare opportunity exists for companies to secure WOTC credits worth $2,400 to $9,600 for each eligible hire in 2015.
